Zora's journalism career started at KWES-TV in Midland-Odessa, Texas, where she served as a general assignments reporter and was quickly promoted to morning anchor of NewsWest 9 Sunrise where she spent two years delivering news in the Permian Basin reporting on crime, illegal gambling, education, weather, environmental issues, foster care/adoption, and illegal waste dumping. Zora had the opportunity to cover some of the biggest moments in U.S. history, reporting LIVE on former President Barack Obama and the first family as they visited Roswell, NM for the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service in August of 2016, followed by the November 2016 Presidential Election of former President Donald Trump.

Her television career took her to the Gulf Coast covering two cities across state lines, Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, FL, as WPMI's first ever Breaking News Reporter. There she closely followed political developments at the national level within the Trump Administration, and at the state and local level reporting on Fmr. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and Alabama Governor Kay Ivey. Zora has extensive severe weather experience covering ice storms, tropical storms, and hurricanes Harvey and Nate that severely impacted the Gulf Coast. She also was on the ground reporting during the deadly tornado that ripped through Hattiesburg, MS in 2017 and the storm that hit Ocean Springs, Mississippi in 2018. Since Mobile is the official birthplace of Mardi Gras, Zora got the chance to cover Mardi Gras festivities yearly dressed in full costume (Laissez les bon temps rouler/Let the good times roll)!

Continuing her journey, Zora's next chapter led her closer to home, to San Antonio, Texas where she worked as a Traffic Anchor for not one, but two sister stations, reporting traffic updates for WOAI (the NBC affiliate) and KABB (the FOX affiliate). There, Zora served as the fourth member of two separate morning news teams, appearing on both the NBC and FOX stations in San Antonio weekday mornings from 4:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

With her engaging on-air presence and deep understanding of the city of San Antonio and its transportation systems (since she attended college at the University of Texas at San Antonio), Zora was able to accurately keep viewers informed as they started their day. Zora reported on several breaking news events in San Antonio and across Texas and created her own traffic franchise called, "What Grindz you Gears?" detailing local drivers' daily woes on San Antonio roads. Most of her reporting focused on transportation and infrastructure in the country's 7th largest city, as well as Fiesta, the city's annual week-long celebration highlighting hispanic culture in central Texas.

Zora served as the designated fill-in anchor and weather anchor where she accurately delivered the news of the day as well as the weather forecast for Good Morning Las Vegas. There, she turned weekly sometimes daily content focusing on infrastructure, transportation, community events, education, consumer/inflation stories, and breaking news. My Back- Story

Growing up as the youngest of seven siblings in the heart of Texas, in a very new-age "Brady Bunch" kind of dynamic is what shaped me. My mother is from Buenos Aires, Argentina and my father is from San Diego, California. Each of which had children (my siblings) prior to meeting. My childhood was a wild, beautiful, and fun fusion of the two worlds colliding and shaped so much of who I am!

My childhood gave me a unique lens through which to view the world. I witnessed firsthand the power of diversity growing up in a blended household. It allowed me understand and embrace different cultures and perspectives. My mother who is a social worker has always been a phenomenal writer in Spanish and her second language, English. My father has always been an avid news watcher and I vividly remember watching the local news with him as a kid. Early in the morning before school and after a long hard work-day as a carpenter, my dad would flip through the channels like clockwork between nightly news, Dateline, 20/20 and 60 minutes followed mixed in with a little Judge Judy, Jerry Springer, and Sally Jessy Raphael. My Aunt from Argentina, "Tia Leo", also sparked my passion for storytelling early on, as she is an author of children's books. The world of journalism, writing and news had surrounded me from the start and continues to be my driving force!

My unique childhood coupled with learning the importance of representation is what led me to where I am today.  Giving a voice to the underrepresented and changing lives whether it be through a story or a smile!
